Elevate your Boston Bruins Memorabilia collection with the Bobby Orr Collectors Card Print!

Bobby Orr played only nine full seasons in the NHL, but his achievements are unparalled in any professional sport. A nine time All-Star, he held a monopoly on the Norris Memorial Trophy as best defenseman eight straight seasons from 1968-1975. He also collected the Hart Trophy for league MVP honors three times, the Art Ross Trophy for the scoring championship twice, the Smythe Trophy for team MVP twice and the Calder Trophy once. In addition, he won the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada's top male athlete, and the Lester Patrick trophy for his contribution to hockey in the United States. Bobby Orr played junior hockey in Oshawa and at age 18 graduated to the NHL with the Boston Bruins.

Despite a chronic knee injury, he won two Stanley Cups there and in 1976, signed with Chicago as a free agent. That year, he also played in the inaugural Canada Cup series and was voted outstanding athlete of the event. After sitting out 1977-78 due to a sixth knee operation, he tried a comeback in 1978 only to have the troubled knee fail him, this time for good. He retired as a player on Nov. 8, 1978.
